- My pottery studio was first established over 30 years ago! Completely made by hand, each piece is wheel thrown, glazed and fired to over 2200 degrees. I'm practicing traditional techniques, balancing creativity and craftsmanship and trying to run a successful studio at the same time.

We spent a week in Door County, WI a while back and stopped in a shop that carried Royce's work. It was immediately clear that this was not just a craftsman but a true artist. I picked out a couple of pieces and the owner, an elderly lady, said that I had a good eye and that she thought my selection was excellent. She may have been trying to make the sale but I still look at the three pieces and think that I made an excellent purchase, even after five years. I wish he would offer his work in the Chicago area.
